FAQ

What is stage Rally?

In the most general terms, stage rally is a sport where teams of two (driver and navigator) compete on closed sections of road surface for the lowest cumulative time. That might be generalizing it a bit much; there’s a lot more to it than just driving fast! Rally 50% motorsport, 50% navigation, and 100% adventure!

I want to race! Can I rally the car I have now?

Performance stage rally is an inherently risky sport. Because of that, we take safety VERY seriously. Cars need to be prepared to the ARA rule book. In essence, you only need the safety equipment to get on stage. Check the rules, and get started on your build!

DO i need a license to compete?

Yes, a license can be purchased through the American Rally Association. GOOD NEWS though! No racing school or pervious experience is required to come rally with us! We’ll put you through a short class before your first three rally events called “novice competitor orientation”, but that’s it. You’re a license away from real rally racing!

how do i enter events?

All registration is done from the ARA website. Check out the event schedule to enter.

Are motorcycles allowed?

Sadly, no. If you want to try stage rally on a motorcycle, we suggest you check out Sandblast Rally in Cheraw, SC!
